Great home base for Wolf Creek and environs at AppleLodge Bed & Breakfast (Del Norte, Colorado)

Reviewed on January 10, 2015 — My boyfriend and I very much enjoyed staying here on a short ski trip over NY 2015. (Apple Lodge is 45 min from Wolf Creek and 5 hours from Boulder.)The owners, Mark and Judy, are very personable, helpful and friendly but not overbearing. They will chat if you are so inclined, but they will also let you relax in silence if that’s what you wish. They have a very cute little dog, Hazel, who is friendly, playful and well-behaved. Mark and Judy made sure we had clear directions and they made good…

A nice warm place in the cold at AppleLodge Bed & Breakfast (Del Norte, Colorado)

Reviewed on December 20, 2014 — We had to change plans for ou roadtrip and picked this place after a quick internet-research very short trem. We staid only one night, and were very pleasantly surprised about the very warm welcome, the free upgrade to a larger room and how impeccable the prperty is maintained; you clearly see how invested and commited the owners are. Breakfast was delicious ad we regretted that we had to leave the other day.

Colorado getaway at AppleLodge Bed & Breakfast (Del Norte, Colorado)

Reviewed on June 16, 2014 — Husband and I found Applelodge B and B while googling for lodging between Montrose and Colorado Springs. We stayed in the “Red Delicious” room, which has a private bath and king size bed. I slept wonderfully but my husband thought the bed was a little soft. The room and bath were very clean, homey, comfortable and convenient for our travels through central and western Colorado. We would definitely return and spend another night with the Applewhites and their quaint Band B. Sat on the front… Reviews

Home away from home. 5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2010

We travel to this area regularly and always love the Apple Lodge. Comfortable, unpretentious, convenient location to all the things we like to do here. This is a great place to stay to make your home base. A good value. They also have a large “bushel house” — sleeps 20-25 and is ideal for a youth group trip — make it affordable.

Road Trip Gem 5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

AppleLodge, just outside Del Norte, Colorado, provided an excellent stay for our May road trip. The hosts, Mark and Judy, are a friendly wealth of information about the area and Colorado in general. We stayed in the room with the Jacuzzi, which was clean and worked well. The entire room was very clean, and stocked with all the amenities we needed for our stay. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable. The hosts lived in the house, so were available most of the time we walked through the public space. They make available DVDs for the in-room player and have a large selection of books and magazines. The inn is appropriately decorated and very comfortable in both the public and private spaces. Breakfast was excellent, offering freshly prepared foods. The inn worked perfectly for us as a stop between Great Sand Dunes National Park and Mesa Verde National Park. We hope to return and stay with them again.

Like staying with friends 5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

We decided at the last minute to go skiing at Wolf Creek over the holidays and because all of our usual locations were full, we ended up at the Apple Lodge. The facilities are nice, but the shining star here are the owners, who did everything they could to make us feel at home. One of us ended up in bed sick for a day, and they did all they could to make us comfortable under trying conditions. Plus I’d never driven to Wolf Creek from the east – which I must say is much quicker and easier than heading up from Pagosa Springs. We’ll be back.

Greatly exceeded our expections! 5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

We were looking for a simple, quick one night stop between Denver and Mesa Verde, and found this lovely bed & breakfast with wonderful hosts, great breakfast, and delightful ambience. A great start to our 25th wedding anniversary trip and would highly recommend! Reviews

We had a great time. The place was so comfortable. The food was great. Mark and Judy took good care of us. Wonderful place to stay. We will be back!!

I grew up in Del Norte, Colorado and was looking for a place to stay on a week-in get away. It happen that the small town of Del Norte was celebrating their Cover Wagon Old West Day. Thinking that the town did not have a nice comfortable Hotel to rent for the time I was there. I came across on the Internet of a Bread and Breakfast west of town on15081 West Highway 160, Del Norte, Co. 81132 highway marker west 201. Room rate are great and affordable price at time that I stayed there. Excellent!!!

Great evening sitting out on the deck watching the sunset. Lovely conversation while breakfast was being prepared with owners. Up close encounters with multiple hummingbirds.

Our stay was lovely. Very peaceful, and close to all the things we wanted to do and see. Nice to come back to tranquility and fresh air. Evenings on the patio watching nature . . . ahhhhh. Breakfast was wonderful and the owner had perfect dinner suggestions.

I came down to the San Louis Valley to take my comps for my Master’s Degree. It was a very stressful time but the minute you walk through the doors of the AppleLodge you know you are in for a very peaceful and pleasant stay. I was able to relax and unwind after a very stressful test. The owners, Mark and Judy were kind and gracious hosts and Mark’s cooking is impeccable. The setting is very nice in the middle of the San Louis Valley with mountains all around. You are very close to the Rio Grande so if you like to fish, you are within walking distance or you can drive up and down it or go to the various lakes close by. Talk to Mark and he can give you a wealth of information about the fishing or anything else in the area. For me, the greatest thing was the calm peaceful ambiance of the home which made our mini vacation perfect. Reviews

Relaxation At Its Finest

Pros: We stayed in the Red Delicious room which has it’s own jacuzzi and deck. The king size bed was very comfortable even for someone with a bad lower back
Cons: NOTHING!!!!!
Location: Talk to Mark about things to do, there is too many to list. But definitely head over to the Sand Dunes and Zapata Falls, you won’t regret it.

First time at a bed and breakfast. Felt like staying with family. Room was comfortable, easy to find, buffalo outside window, great view, bath tub was nice, family was wonderful, good location.

Lovely inn

Our stay was wonderful; wish we could have stayed longer! The room was very clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated, and our breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed getting to know the innkeepers in the short time we were there. We would highly recommend the Applelodge B & B

Far more enjoyable than a traditional hotel

Pros: The owner/operators, ability to hang with other travelers in common areas and at breakfast
Location: Rural Colorado high altitude valley. Picturesque.
Very clean place, friendly owners, good breakfast.

We hope you will come visit us soon!
